The Way of Salvation from the Book of Romans
Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 5:8 ~ But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 6:23 ~ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 10:9-10 ~ If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord”, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Romans 10:13 ~ For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Justification* by Faith
(from Romans 3)
Since all have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God, and are being justified [*meaning: declared free of the guilt of sin, made acceptable to God, and granted eternal life] as a gift by God’s precious, undeserved grace, through redemption [meaning: the payment for our sin] which is provided in Christ Jesus, whom God displayed publicly before the eyes of the world as a life-giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation Christ’s blood, to be received through faith. This was to demonstrate God’s righteousness which demands punishment for sin, because in His forbearance – His deliberate restraint – He passed over our sins previously committed before Jesus’ crucifixion unto Jesus. This passing over of our sins onto Jesus was to demonstrate God’s righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the One who justifies those who have faith in Jesus and rely confidently on Him as Saviour. Not on the principle of good works, but on the principle of faith.
