Embracing the call

Stepping into the unknown to follow God’s call for our lives is a journey of faith and trust. We knew that our calling included evangelizing the nations, frequent travel and many sacrifices. As a result we promised Him long ago that we would go wherever He leads but ask that He would grant us the blessing of bringing up our children in a secure home and guide us in raising them to stand strong in His direction for their own lives when we have to leave to embrace our calling. Through the years He stayed true to our request and now, with our children grown and walking their own paths, it’s time to step out in faith, leaving behind the comforts of home, the familiar faces of loved ones, and the simple joys of life with pets.

It’s time to step out in faith, leaving our comforts behind and embrace God’s call.

Following God’s direction isn’t always easy, especially when it means stepping out of your comfort zones! From navigating language barriers to understand new cultural norms, the challenges can feel overwhelmed at times. But we know that God’s call comes with a promise that He will never leave us and this promise is a constant reminder that we can go wherever He sends us because He is with us every step of the way!

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” ~ Joshua 1:9

We’ve come to realize that ministry isn’t just about giving and serving, but also about learning. By studying and learning as much possible about new cultures and languages, we can better understand the needs of the people we’re serving. It’s about breaking down walls, connecting with others, and showing God’s love in tangible ways. God called us with 2 Timothy 4:2-5 that tells us, “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.” This is a reminder of the challenges we’ll face, but also the importance of staying true to God’s calling and close to His Word.

Leaving behind what we know and love – our family, friends, and familiar routines – can be hard. But we trust in God’s plan and the opportunities that await. This journey is a step of obedience, trusting that the Lord will continue to guide us just as He has always done. We remember that our children are now equipped to stand strong on their own paths, and we’re excited to witness what God has in store for them as He has for us as we all follow His lead into this new season of ministry.

As we prepare to step out in faith, we can’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for the support we’ve received. We know the road won’t always be easy, but we’re excited to see how God will use us to make an impact wherever He sends us – whether in our own country or internationally. This is more than just a mission – it’s a journey of trusting Him with every step, knowing that He will continue to guide us, just as He has always done. We’re ready for whatever He has in store, and we can’t wait to see how He’ll use us to make a difference in the world!

Our mission is clear – to serve, to learn, and to make a difference wherever He calls. Trusting in His guidance, we embrace this next chapter with hearts full of faith and anticipation.

As we prepare to embark on this new journey, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to all the incredible people who have walked alongside us in the past. You were placed in our lives by God – some to teach us valuable lessons, others to help us when we needed it most, and many to offer friendship and unwavering support. Your influence and love has shaped us, and we are so thankful for you. As we step into the unknown, we humbly ask for your continued prayers and spiritual support. Please join us in prayer that God will bring new, faithful individuals into our lives to help guide us through the paths ahead. We are excited to see how He will continue to work in and through us as we move forward!
